New Arrivals Support CIC Awarded the London Youth Bronze Quality Mark
We are delighted to announce that New Arrivals Support CIC has been formally awarded the London Youth Bronze Quality Mark, a prestigious quality assurance recognition within the youth sector in London and the UK. This award recognises our high standards in youth work, safeguarding, equality, organisational practice, and our ongoing commitment to delivering inclusive, safe, and impactful support for young people and families in our communities. Being awarded this quality mark reflects months of hard work, deep reflection, ongoing improvement, and a passion to create trusted, practical support for vulnerable young people across London.
New Arrivals Support CIC is a migrant- and refugee-run community interest company dedicated to supporting newly arrived people in the UK with compassionate, culturally informed support. Our organisation was founded to respond to the growing needs of people displaced by conflict, most notably due to the war in Ukraine, and has since grown into a trusted hub for migrant communities. We provide practical advice and advocacy in education, housing, welfare, employment and healthcare, while promoting human rights, diversity, equity and inclusion. Our work is rooted in lived experience, driven by compassion, and focused on sustainable community change that empowers individuals and families as they build new lives here in the UK.
At the heart of our work is the Ukrainian Youth Project, a bilingual youth initiative that brings together young people aged 11 to 17 who arrived in the UK under the Homes for Ukraine resettlement scheme and live or study in the London Borough of Lewisham. This youth project was established to build community, improve wellbeing, nurture cultural identity, and tackle social isolation among young refugees. The project meets twice weekly and offers creative expression, skill-building activities, social outings and various workshops that help young people feel part of a shared, supportive space even amidst ongoing upheaval in their lives. Every session within the youth project is designed to build resilience, strengthen social connections, and support emotional wellbeing, ensuring that young people have opportunities not only to socialise but to grow in confidence and feel more at home in their new environment.
Achieving the London Youth Bronze Quality Mark is significant not only for our organisation but also for the young people and families we serve. London Youth’s Quality Mark framework was developed specifically for organisations delivering youth work in London and assesses quality across several critical areas including the safety of physical space, safeguarding policies, equality and diversity, governance, leadership, and the overall quality of youth programmes. This bronze level award recognises that we have robust organisational systems in place and that our youth work meets nationally recognised standards of quality, accountability and good practice. It confirms to our partners, funders, children, families and the wider community that New Arrivals Support CIC is committed to excellence in youth engagement and to continuous improvement as an organisation.
London Youth’s Quality Mark is more than an accreditation; it is part of a developmental journey that supports organisations to reflect on their practices and embed learning across their work. The Bronze Quality Mark assesses an organisation’s readiness in areas such as legal compliance, safeguarding, inclusivity, and the creation of a safe environment for all young people, providing both external validation and tools for future growth. By successfully completing this process, New Arrivals Support CIC has demonstrated it is operating to high standards and is ready to build upon this foundation to pursue higher levels of the Quality Mark in the future.
We are incredibly proud to now stand among London’s trusted youth organisations and to have our work recognised by London Youth. This achievement is a tribute to the dedication and professionalism of our team, volunteers and supporters who have worked tirelessly to create spaces where young people can feel safe, supported and valued. It also reflects the trust and resilience of the young people and families who participate in our youth project and other community programmes every week.
A heartfelt thank you goes to everyone who helped make this possible — including our staff, volunteers, community partners and the young refugees who continue to inspire us with their strength and courage. We are excited to carry this momentum forward and continue building safe, supportive, and inclusive spaces for young people as we grow our impact across London and beyond.
