New Arrivals Support CIC

We are migrant and refugee grassroots organisation that works directly with different groups of new arrivals in the UK.

At New Arrivals Support CIC, we understand that adapting to a new country comes with its own set of challenges. That’s why we provide a safe space for temporarily displaced migrants, refugees, and other migrants navigating life in the UK.

Our approach is rooted in promoting human rights, diversity, and equality, ensuring every individual feels supported and respected.

Our mission is to prevent poverty, improve wellbeing, and help new arrivals integrate into UK society.

Everything we do is designed to make life fairer, safer, and healthier for people new to the UK.

Our vision. We envision a society where new arrivals are safe, healthy, respected, and able to make a full contribution. We believe that migration brings strength and value to the UK, and our vision is for inclusive communities where everyone feels a sense of belonging.

Our work includes

  • Advocacy and casework

We provide guidance with housing, benefits, healthcare, education, and legal support.

  • Youth projects

We support young people from migrant and refugee backgrounds through mentoring, activities, and wellbeing guidance.

  • Family programmes

We offer sessions for parents with children under five, creating a space for learning, play, and family support.

  • ESOL (English) classes

We provide learning opportunities for older migrants who face barriers to mainstream education, helping them build skills and confidence.

  • Wellbeing projects

We work to reduce loneliness, support older Ukrainians, and promote healthy and active lifestyles.

  • Community culture

We are building a Ukrainian community library and running heritage and integration events that bring people together.

How It All Began

Oksana Kalala established New Arrivals Support CIC as an emergency response initiative to address the migration crisis caused by the war in Ukraine.

Recognising the overwhelming challenges faced by displaced individuals, Oksana joined forces with local activists, who possess vast knowledge and experience related to various migration challenges, refugee crises, working with marginalised communities, modern slavery, trafficking, domestic abuse, and extensive safeguarding concerns.

Together, this passionate team established NASCIC to address the immediate needs of new arrivals while building a sustainable framework for their long-term success. What began as a crisis-response initiative has grown into a thriving organisation that supports refugees and migrants from diverse backgrounds.
