Woolwich Dockyard Festival 2024

New Arrivals Support was proud to participate in the Woolwich Dockyard Festival 2024, a vibrant event celebrating the rich history and diversity of our local community. Our founder, Oksana Kalala, alongside the Royal Borough of Greenwich Mayor, Jit Ranabhat, contributed to the festival by creating a unique piece of artwork that commemorates the event and highlights the importance of inclusivity and cultural heritage.

The Woolwich Dockyard Festival is an annual celebration that brings together local residents, businesses, and organisations to showcase the area's maritime history and diverse communities. As a grassroots organisation committed to supporting refugees, migrants, and displaced people, New Arrivals Support took this opportunity to highlight our vital work in advocacy, community development, and integration services.

Throughout the festival, New Arrivals Support engaged with attendees to share insights into our initiatives, including bilingual casework, well-being services, and advocacy efforts for refugees and asylum seekers. Our team connected with local stakeholders, strengthening our network and raising awareness about the challenges faced by migrants in accessing housing, employment, education, and health services in the UK.

The Woolwich Dockyard Festival 2024 was not only a celebration of history and culture but also a powerful platform to amplify migrant voices and foster a sense of belonging within the community. We are grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with local leaders and showcase our commitment to co-designing solutions that empower new arrivals to rebuild their lives with dignity and independence.
