Small Actions = Big Impact: Mental Health Day 2025
When times are tough, even the smallest gestures of kindness and support can change lives. That’s the message behind Great Mental Health Day 2025, taking place on 31 January 2025—a day to celebrate the power of community connection, especially for people experiencing hardship, isolation, or the effects of displacement.
At New Arrivals Support CIC, we believe that community care is not just important—it’s essential. Many of the people we work with are refugees, asylum seekers, or migrants who have newly arrived in the UK. They are navigating complex systems, overcoming trauma, and rebuilding their lives in unfamiliar environments. That's why every project we deliver—from bilingual casework and well-being services, to advocacy, ESOL classes, and community events—creates a safe, welcoming space rooted in trust, belonging, and cultural understanding.
We all need community.
We all need connection.
Whether it’s through a Ukrainian youth project, migrant family support group, or a mental health workshop for new arrivals, our team of staff and volunteers (many with lived experience) are committed to supporting mental health and preventing generational poverty. At New Arrivals Support, we know that even a single act—like sharing information, attending a drop-in session, or offering a warm smile—can have a ripple effect.
This Great Mental Health Day, we invite you to take one small action to support someone in your local community. Join us in building a more compassionate, inclusive, and connected society—where no one feels left behind.
